Heartsaver® First Aid CPR AED
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED teaches participants to provide first aid, perform CPR, and use an automated external defibrillator (AED) safely and effectively. Based on the latest American Heart Association Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care (ECC).
Who should take this course?
The Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED Course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training who needs an OSHA & USCG-compliant course completion card—or anyone who simply wants to be ready to respond in an emergency.
What does this course teach?
Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED teaches the lifesaving skills of first aid, CPR and AED including:
- First aid basics
- Medical emergencies
- Injury emergencies
- Environmental emergencies
- Preventing illness and injury
- Adult CPR and AED use
- Choking help for an Adult, Child or Infant
- Drowning response and prevention
- Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
- Includes Child and Infant CPR AED

The US Coast Guard (USCG) has approved the AHA’s Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED (Heartsaver Total) Course as meeting the USCG Elementary First Aid* training requirements of:
- Elementary First Aid per STCW Code Table A-VI/1-3;
- Elementary First Aid per 46 CFR 11.302(a)(3) and 46 CFR 12.602(a)(3);
- The first aid and CPR training requirements of 46 CFR 11.201(i)(1)
*All elective sections of Heartsaver First Aid with CPR AED (AMERHA-216) will be given.
We will provide this certificate to any maritime personnel that require the certificate to accompany their AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED course completion card upon successful completion of the course with all options completed and written exam.
